So I learned for the first time today (via the crossword puzzle in Sky Magazine on my flight back to New Orleans) that the NFL Washington Redskins are from Washington DC, and not Washington state. I have lived 23.5 years of my life under the assumption that the Washington Redskins were from the state of Washington. Now my world is upside down.

yo yo...there's certain things that i think about that i just can't wrap my head around, even though i know there's answers to them. Like home sales statistics. Recently there was some stat about new home construction declining. Can't there be a point where there are enough homes and there's just no reason to build anymore? I feel like it can't be expected to get more and more each month.
Car sales also mess with my head too. There's so many cars being produced every year. Once ur done with ur car u sell it, then that person sells it to someone lower, etc. At what point does the car get destroyed or disspears? I feel like the number of cars being made each day way outnumbers the cars being sold+destroyed. Is this true?
In general public works just make me nervous and stressed when i think about them. subways, plumbing, sewers...i can't even imagine how all of that gets created and works. Ugh and the thought of something happening that disrupts nyc's subway makes me cringes.
**EDIT**
This just makes me mad. This is from an article talking about the upcoming Mini-E(fully electric version of the mini cooper)
"Sales start in America early next year. Just 500 cars have been built and they'll be leased -- for $850 a month -- in southern California, New York and New Jersey. A Cooper S, by comparison, costs about $350 a month. After one year (BMW will consider requests for extensions) the cars will be returned to BMW for examination and dismemberment. The German car maker sees the Mini E program as a giant electric car test exercise, and those guinea pig customers will make only a modest contribution to costs. The lithium ion batteries alone reportedly cost $30,000 each. There are no plans to make any further Mini Es, and BMW says it is unlikely to make a mass-produced plug-in EV for at least five years."
i hope no one returns the cars, pays bmw for them, and they try to take them away like the early 90's with GM and the EV-1 except this time hopefully people will pay more attention to it. At least it will be germans doing it and they're kinda like a universal enemy

yo yo...so this political season there was lots of talk of william ayers. I didn't know all that much about him, just some things i read and thought he was probably blown out of proportion. Last week he was on good morning america(or some other morning show) whoring his book that was coincidentally rereleased after obama won...i must say, after hearing his confident answers i can say this man is fucking crazy. he was asked about the bombings he planned and he said that it wasn't terrorism because nobody was purposely hurt. his logic was, literally, that you can blow up a building but so long as you only meant to blow up the building its not terrorism. wow. he even reiterated that he wished they had done more. i understand he was against the war, but because you don't get your way you want to blow up government buildings to get your way? stop it! stop whining! i was also watching on fox when they interviewed a man who when he was 9 his house was firebombed by ayers because his father was a judge that made a ruling mr ayers didnt agree with. good stuff
the set up to the series finale of the shield is tonight. i am excited, but not. i love that show so much. i really have no idea what is going to happen, i have 100 plots in my head of what could happen and im very excited.
i saw frost on my car today and got a little sad.
on the radio today i heard someone make a point that was so brilliant. he talked about how it makes him wonder whenever he sees a lumber truck going one way, and then another lumber truck going the opposite direction. he said he wondered why there cant be some sort of organization going on to save everybody time. then some truck drivers called up the show and said that in some cases the its actually cheaper for the company to pay to just have the stuff shipped around for a while than it is to pay extra inventory tax and storage fees.
family guy's edgy humor never ceases to amaze me. the funniness obviously but also the people they make fun of. im so glad its animated and no douche bag watchdog parent motherfucker groups pay attention to it.

After listening to it again on YouTube, I think John McCain's Concession speech was the best speech of the election season. Bravo, John McCain for bowing out with grace.

yo yo...so i was watching forrest gump tonight. How the HELL do you write a movie like that?? incredible. Anyway, while he was watching the US land on the moon i was thinking what event from last 100 yrs do i wish i was able to witness, well not really in person but be around for. I'd probably say moon landing, i feel like that was SO advanced for the time and was probably pretty scary too.
Also for some reason i ejected a disc from my PS3 today without quitting the game and i thought i was going to ruin the game, but it didnt get ruined. phew. good thing obama was elected or else i would have been FUCKED

Hello everyone. Most people probably are unaware of this, but November is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. In the spirit of helping out, the month has been dubbed "Movember" by a group who organize a fundraiser for prostate cancer research.
The premise of the fundraiser is this:
1. A willing volunteer (me) registers to take part in the fundraiser. My responsibilities include growing a "mo" (the Australian slang for mustache) and seeking sponsors to donate. I then get to spend the month of November working on not feeling like a fool about having a porn 'stache. In fact, I even have to fly home for Thanksgiving looking like a sex offender, with a ridiculous mustache.
2. Willing donators (everyone who wants to!) can go HERE to donate any amount (credit cards and pay pal accepted!) And donations are tax deductible! How excellent! Then just sit back, and laugh at the ridiculous pictures of my mustache that will be posted at the end of the month for your enjoyment on Facebook. (Also, those of you who see me home for Thanksgiving can even stroke the glory that will be my 'stache).
OK, and if you don't donate, I guess you can still laugh at me, but I'll think poorly of you.

what up.
i was reading old blogs all over blogland this morning, because i woke up at seven am for no reason. highlights include wing night, kevin and ying, and of course, sloth moss. i remember reading "back by popular complaints," and dissecting pig fetuses and whatnot, and thinking "this is so markopolis."
it's been a while, and i know i'm pretty much mia all the time, but every now and then i get a little sentimental, especially when significant world events happen. right now i want to be in a room with bincent, and mark, and karen, and nici pags, and any of you i'm forgetting. just one more time hearing adam and kevin, listening to them talk, and nearly shitting myself laughing. og for life.
i miss you guys.

what up.
circa eleven pm, new york city was crazy. the streets were littered with people screaming and chanting, union square was packed, even part of first avenue by my apartment had traffic stopped to a dead halt because there were so many people just standing in the street, clapping and singing. people were on rooftops and buses even, out the windows of buildings and cars honking horns and raising fists. we ran into lots of friends, and high-fived and hugged dozens of people we've still never met.
for those of you who voted, but not for obama, don't be discouraged. a man who can turn an entire city of miserable people into american flag waving, star spangled banner singing, usa chanting flash mobs, well, he can't be all that bad. and he is going to make a believer out of you, too.
