what up.
circa eleven pm, new york city was crazy. the streets were littered with people screaming and chanting, union square was packed, even part of first avenue by my apartment had traffic stopped to a dead halt because there were so many people just standing in the street, clapping and singing. people were on rooftops and buses even, out the windows of buildings and cars honking horns and raising fists. we ran into lots of friends, and high-fived and hugged dozens of people we've still never met.
for those of you who voted, but not for obama, don't be discouraged. a man who can turn an entire city of miserable people into american flag waving, star spangled banner singing, usa chanting flash mobs, well, he can't be all that bad. and he is going to make a believer out of you, too.
